A vibrant Rose Champagne from Besserat de Bellefon that is made with a blend of 50% Pinot Meunier, 25% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir grapes, and uses less “liqueur de tirage” – a blend of sugar, yeast and must – at the point of bottling for a lighter effervescence. The palate offers notes of wild strawberries, raspberries, hawthorn, redcurrant, sweet almond and a hint of ginger that pair well with barbecued king prawns or pan-seared langoustine.

The name Cuvee Louis is in honour of Elisabeth Salmon’s brother, who was passionately involved with the Champagne from its inception. It is made from Chardonnay grapes, including those from Grand Cru sites in the Côte des Blancs. This 2009 vintage has aromas of coconut, brioche and lemon zest.
